外反母趾(がいはんぼし)は、足の親指(母趾)が「く」の字に曲がるもので、親指の付け根側が靴に触れて痛みを伴います。
また、外反母趾が原因となって頭痛や腰痛、肩こり、肥満むくみ、歩行障害などが現れることもあります。
外反母趾は大きく5つに分類されます。
靭帯性外反母趾
横中足靭帯が伸びたり、緩んでしまうことで親指が小指側に曲がる。
仮骨性外反母趾
親指は小指側に曲がっておらず、親指の付け根の骨だけが異常に出っ張っている。
混合性外反母趾
靭帯性外反母趾と仮骨性外反母趾が併せて生じている。

うつ病は心の病気として認知されています。一方で、自律神経失調症という病気については、名前を聞いたことがあるだけという程度の認識の方が多いことと思います。体の病気なのか、心の病気なのかという区分についても、名前からはわかりにくい病名かもしれません。

手術
手術は効果的な癌治療の中でも最も古い形態である。手術は単独または他の治療法と組み合わせて用いる。
癌患者の手術リスクが増大する要因には，合併症，癌に関連した衰弱，およびあまり一般的ではないが腫瘍随伴症候群がある（癌の概要: 腫瘍随伴症候群を参照 ）。癌患者はしばしば食欲不振からくる栄養不良および腫瘍増殖による異化作用が起こるとともに，これらの因子が手術からの回復を抑制または遅延させる。患者は白血球減少または血小板減少を示すことがあり，これにより敗血症および出血のリスクが増大する。そのため，術前評価が特に重要である（外科患者の治療: 術前評価を参照 ）。
転移のない原発腫瘍の症例では，手術が治癒的治療である。原発腫瘍周囲の正常組織の完全な切除縁を確立することが原発腫瘍切除の成功に重要である。病理学者による凍結組織の術中検査が必要であり，腫瘍細胞が切除縁で陽性の場合直ちにさらなる組織を切除する。しかしながら，凍結組織の検査は処理および染色した組織の検査に劣る。切除縁組織の後の再検討は，より広範囲の切除の必要性を明らかにする。
局所に進展した原発腫瘍の外科的切除では，浸潤のある所属リンパ節の除去，浸潤のある近接臓器の切除，または一塊切除も必要となることがある。特定の癌における手術単独による生存率は 癌治療の原則: 癌療法別の5年無病生存率表 1: に記載している。
原発腫瘍が近接の正常組織に広範囲に進展している転移症例では，他の方法（例，化学療法，放射線療法）により必要な切除範囲を縮小できるよう，手術を延期することがある。局所に進展した肺癌または頭頸部癌のように所属リンパ節転移がある場合は，非外科的療法が最もよい初期治療法である。単独の転移は，特に肺の場合，治癒率にみあえば，時に切除できる。
特に肝臓，脳，または肺への転移数が限定されている患者には，原発性および転移性腫瘍両者の外科的切除が有益なことがある。例えば，肝転移を伴う結腸癌では，肝臓の病変が4つ未満および適切な腫瘍切除縁が得られる場合，切除により5年生存率が30〜40％となる。
全身腫瘍組織量を減少させるための外科的切除である腫瘍減量手術は，卵巣癌のほとんどの症例のように全ての腫瘍組織の除去が不可能な場合，しばしば選択肢となる。腫瘍減量手術は，完全に明確ではない機序を介して，他の治療法に対する残存組織の感受性を増強しうる。腫瘍減量手術は小児の固形腫瘍および卵巣癌において良好な結果が得られている。
症状を緩和し，生活の質を維持する症状緩和目的の手術は，治癒の見込みがない，または治癒の試みによって患者に受け入れがたい副作用が起こる場合，妥当な代替療法である。腫瘍切除は疼痛管理，出血リスクの減少，または生命維持に必要な器官（例，腸管，尿路）の閉塞を軽減するために適応となることがある。近位閉塞がある場合は，胃瘻または空腸瘻チューブによる栄養補給が必要である。
再建手術は腫瘍切除後の患者の快適さまたは生活の質を改善しうる（例，乳房切除術後の乳房再建術）。

しかし一方、ムーについての学問的研究においては、最近はチャーチワードの模写に近い文化が環太平� �一帯に見られることは事実だが、海洋地質学上から太平洋に大陸が沈んだとは考えられないという観点から、太平洋は大陸は存在しなかったが、ムー文化圏といったものが存在したというとらえ方が主流となっている。
日本での研究の主なものを拳げていこう。
「金子史郎氏の説」
ムー文明圏というべきものが太平洋諸島にあったとし、洪水伝説は後氷河期の海面上昇や付近の火山活動など島々が襲われたからとしている。

専門的知識と多方面に渡る教養を持つ、雑誌「ニュートン」の編集長・竹内均元東京大学教授は、金子氏と同様にムー大陸はなかったがムー文明は存在していたとしているが、金子氏と違ってムー文明の源流を大陸に含めている。

数々の地震を予知したことで知られる海洋地質学専攻の木村政昭・琉球大学教授は、基本的に竹内氏の路線を推し進め、環太平洋文化圏(ムー文明)の中で実際に陥没した陸地があり、その幻のムー大陸そのものにあてはまるのが琉球古陸だとしている。

なお、木村教授はチャーチワードが指摘した場所には一万二千年前にはないとし、その前提の上に「では、いっそのこと、これまでの検証をもとに、その周辺に比定地を探し、それ自体がムーとなりうるかどうか検証してみてはどうだろう。海洋地質のことはひとまずおくとして、チャーチワードのムー文化、とくにシンボルについてはかなりの真理を含むとみられるところから、太平洋の国々のどこ� ��にその源があるとしていいようである」とし、沖縄で発見されている線刻石版を、チャーチワードのムーのシンボルの考え方に当てはめて解読することができたことから、沖縄をその比定地とし、「しんかい2000」で調査した結果、水没した海岸を発見している。
さらにその後の研究で教授は、沖縄の海底に沈んでいる巨大な石造遺跡を発見しているが、現在はそれをムーの遺跡とはしていない。
日本がムー文化圏であることはすでにチャーチワード自身が語っているが、晩年、彼はムーの最も有力な証拠は日本にあるはずだと語っている。
最後のムー大陸「日本」 神衣志奉より
ムー大陸
近年発達した深海底の調査活動によると「ムー大陸沈没説」はともかくとして、その一部とも考えられる陸地が、一万数千年前まで九州と台湾との間の相当広い範囲に渡って存在しており、それが海底深く沈没し、その後に海面上に残ったものとして薩南諸島が現れているということが科学的に実証されているのである。
すなわち、近年、伊豆半島の三原山噴火を予言していたことで知られている琉球大学の木村政昭助教授らの海底調査によると、屋久島と奄美大島の間のトカラ列島の水域の海面下一二〇〇メートルの海底では珊瑚礁から変成した石灰岩が発見されているし、沖縄本島のすぐ南にーの慶良間列島の沖の六〇〇メートルの海底からは象と思われる陸上動物の骨も見つかっているし、地上の洞窟の奥� ��は大洪水−−−それは陸地の沈没によって引き起こされる大津波−−−のために流されて溜まったと思われる動物の遺骸も多数発見されている。
こうしたことから、このあたりの水域はかつて陸地であって、それが深海に沈んだことは今や疑いのないものと判定されている。しかし、このような重大な事実が一般マスコミには大きく取り上げられていないことは遺憾なことと言うべきであろう。
なお、一九六七年に那須市に近い具志頭村で発見された港川人の人骨は今から一万八千年のものであるとされている。そして、沖縄各地には七〇〇〇箇所もの洞窟があるが、その一部からは、その地に現在はいない種類のものを含め多くの陸上動物の骨が塊って発見されている。これは、チャーチワードが言うような大陸の沈没がこの 近海で起こり、その際に発生した大津波により一カ所に集められたものと推定される。
ともあれ、与那国島近海で発見されたこの神殿遺跡こそ日本列島の巨石文化の中でまさしく極めつけのものと言うべきであろう。もし、それが縄文時代に相当する時期のものであるとすれば、従来の歴史像は完全に否定されるだけでなく、この一帯にはチャーチワードの「ムー大陸沈没説」が唱えるような太古文明をもつ陸地があったことになり、今回の発見はそれに科学的な証明を与えたものと言わざるえない。こうして、これまで唱えられてきた日本列島の文化の形成論や世界の四大文明発祥説は根底から覆されたことになる。その意味で、この発見はまさに革命的なものとされなくてはならないだろう。
こういう事実が示されると、浦� �伝説や海幸・山幸説話に現れる海底にある竜宮というのは、「その昔、大宮殿のある楽園が海の底に沈んだ」という先祖からの言い伝えから生まれたものではないかと思われてくるではないか。
「失われた大陸ムー」の著者のチャーチワードは、著書を出す五〇年も前のころ、インドで奇妙な文様を刻んだ粘土版を発見し、そこに記されたものを「ナーカル文字」と名付け、「そこには「輝かしい文化をもった大陸が海の底に沈んだ」ということが記されていると解読できたことが大陸沈没説に取り組むキッカケになったのであるという。彼が「ナーカル文字」すなわち「ムー大陸」の文字と呼ぶものは、川崎氏らが紹介している
古代西アジアの石刻文字にも似ているが、それよりもっと酷似しているものがあるのである。それは 、沖縄の各地の洞窟の中の壁や石塊・石板に記されている石刻文様なのである。そのうちの一つについて、地震学者の木村政昭氏は、「太陽の子が支配する国が海の底に沈んだ」という記録であると解読している。その判読の真偽については、なんとも判定はできないが、もし、これが本当のペトログラフであり、木村氏の読み方が正しいとすれば、「ムー大陸沈没説」はますます現実性の高い仮説となってくるだけではなく、日本列島の住民こそムー大陸文明を支えた人たちの直接の子孫ということになってくるのではなかろうか。
「異端から学ぶ古代史」澤田洋太郎・著より
古代秘話
この話は、戸来出身の田村源一郎氏から、著者が直接聞いた話をまとめたものである。
俳人の高橋菊翁が、その孫に当たる高橋タカさんに語ったものを、田村氏がタカさん(もちろん個人)より聞いたものだというが、最初に七十過ぎのご老人の口から、"ムの国"と聞いた時、大いに驚かされた。
当然のことながら、チャーチワード氏の著作を知るはずもなく、著者自身も田村氏にムー大陸の話をしたこともないのに、戸来にこんな話が伝わっていたとは思いもよらなかった。
そこで、『古事記』同様、少々エロチックな部分もあるが、記録の意味を含めて、ここに記しておくことにする。
その昔、太平洋上に「ムの国」があり、五色の人種(白、黒、黄、青、赤)が人種差別もなく、仲良く住ん� ��いた。そして年に一度、各人種が集まって来てお祭りを行っていた。
しかし、何万年前のことかわからぬが、「ムの国」は海中へ陥没してしまった。その「ムの国」より生き残った三人の男が日本に辿りつき、内、一人は現在の青森県の八戸港から"八太郎"という所に上陸したが、まだ日本の陸地はドロドロしていてよく固まっていなく、その男は安全な高い所を目指して奥地に入って行き、戸来にやって来たのであった。こうして最初の日本は男ばかりの世界となった。
一方、当時のシナは女ばかりで、そこから遊女たちが日本の長崎へやって来た。そこで、どこでどう会ったのかわからぬが、男ばかりの世界へ女が来たので、世の中がパーッと明るくなり、男たちは喜び、「アマ(女)が世を照らすようだ」−−−「アマ照� ��す」となり、言葉は神也で、これが天照大神となった。
そして遊女たちも、女ばかりの世界から男のいる世界へ来、男の性器を見て「珍しい棒−−−珍棒」と呼び、これで陰陽完全なる世界が完成したという。
そしてまた、先祖(ムの国)を偲び敬う心から、冠婚葬祭はすべて「五色の旗」を使用することになったという。

日本で発見される古代文字
「中国から漢字が伝えられるまで日本には文字がなかった」と、日本人の大多数はそう信じ込んでいる。義務教育の小・中学校はいうまでもなく、高等教育の場でも繰り返し、そう教えられてきたからだ。
しかし、平成三年七月、佐賀県大和町の東山田一本杉遺跡から出土した弥生前期末の甕棺から、「古代南インドの象形文字」が発見された。
日本人考古学者が見逃していたものを、たまたま調査に訪れた、インド人考古学者ポンナムバラム・ラグパティ博士が発見したものだ。
意味は不明だが、甕棺の側面に、縦十五センチ、横十九センチの大きさで十字に引かれた線の先端が熊手状の文字が描かれていた。ラグパティ博士は「紀元前三世紀頃まで南インドの� �器に描かれていたグラフィティという古代文字と同じだ」と語り、驚きの声をあげた。
しかし、この程度で驚いてはいけないのだ。紀元前二五〇〇年から紀元前三〇〇年頃に使われていたと思われる古代シュメール文字やバビロニア文字、ギリシャのピロス文字、中国の甲骨文字のルーツと思われる文字が、西日本一帯において、続々と発見されているのだ。(日本ペトログラフ協会調べ)
つまり、インドどころの騒ぎではなく、超古代の日本人が世界各地と交流していた形跡が見られるのである。ただし、それらの発掘物が、世界各地から古代文化を伝えた部族が集団で日本列島で渡来し、それぞれのルーツを伝える文字を岩に刻み込んだものなのか、逆に日本で発明された古代文字が世界各地に伝えられ、定着し完成するに至� �た形跡をしめすものなのか、この辺については今のところ定かではない。

まずは、文章をほめていただいて、ありがとうございます。本当にうれしく思います。
さて、お悩みは大きく分けて２つありますね。
一つは、ご主人との関係をよりよいものにしたいということと、もう1つはお姑さんとの過去のことを持ち出されるのがいやだということ。
そして、ご主人との関係が悪化したのはお姑さんとの関係が原因であると思っているのですね。
もう少し詳しく見ていくと、二人目のお子さんが欲しいのに、ご主人が「うん」といってくれないことに対する不満や、欲しいけれど、妊娠中や子育てのとき、自分の気持ちが不安定になるのでは・・・そのときご主人に助けてもらいたい・・・という気持ちもおありなのですね。
自己啓発 もされ、あなたは過去のことを気にしないように努めてきたこと、とてもすばらしいと思います。
しかし、いまだ、いろいろなことがとりとめもなくあなたの中にあふれてしまって、まとまらなくなってしまったお気持ち、とてもよく伝わってきました。
そして、どうしたらよいか考えて行きましょう。

両方をカレー鍋に入れて弱火で煮込む。
本当は玉ねぎをフライパンで炒めたほうがいいんですがめんどくさい。
水分が足りないので年収に応じて料理酒を入れる。貧乏な分だけ水を足す。
人参１本をスプーンに乗るくらいの大きさに乱切り。
玉ねぎ大１個をスプーンに乗るくらいのスクエアに切る。
両者、カレー鍋に投入。

Born in Boston in January 1953, Stern grew up in Washington, DC, then returned to Boston to study at the Berklee College of Music. After college, he got his start as a guitar player with Blood, Sweat & Tears at age 22. Following a brief stint with Billy Cobhams powerhouse fusion band from 1979 to 1980, he moved to New York City, where he was recruited by Miles Davis to play a key role in Miles celebrated comeback band of 1981 (which also included bassist Marcus Miller, drummer Al Foster, percussionist Mino Cinelu and saxophonist Bill Evans). During his three-year period with Miles, Stern appeared on three recordings with the jazz maestro Man with the Horn, Star People and the live We Want Miles. He toured with Jaco Pastorius Word of Mouth Band from 1983 through 1985 and returned to Miles lineup for a second tour of duty that lasted close to a year. In 1985, Stern recorded Neesh, his first recording as a leader, for the Japan-based Trio label.

Truthfully I have never had the opportunity to have authentic Chicago-style deep dish pizza. The closest I've ever come is the deep dish pizza from the Uno's chain (which is fabulous! by the way). So, unfortunately I couldn't tell you how this homemade recipe held up to the real thing. I do know that the people at Cook's Illustrated did put a lot of time and thought into this recipe. How can I be sure exactly? Because this recipe is too complex for it not to be excessively thought out. And I don't mean to scare you off from trying this recipe by labeling it as "complex". But even I think that it was more work than necessary… I took it as a challenge though! I'm sure there are a few of you out there that are just like me and find these types of recipes to be fascinating. A part of you just can not rest until you've conquered them! I hear ya. That's why I had to go through with making my own homemade chicago-style deep dish pizza. I had to prove it to myself that I could do it. Mission complete.
Now, on to more specifics about this particular recipe. The outcome? Well, it's a little bit complicated… see, I'm from NY. Not the city! But still… our pizza is thin and flat. Cheese on top. Toppings on top. Pretty standard stuff. Personally, I enjoy deep dish pizza. I just do not prefer it to what we have for pizza. And don't even get me started on my poor Husband. He's a really good sport about trying a few things that I make that he wouldn't normally have anything to do with. But this? Can't say he was very happy about having to eat it for dinner. I knew I had blown it when the words "and the cheese is on the bottom" came out of my mouth while I was explaining the difference to him. Yeaaaaah, he was not at all okay with that. He ate it, because it was still good. But he wasn't happy and he didn't like that I called it pizza. And even though, I agree with him that the cheese belongs on top, I thought the pizza was delicious.

Earlier today we posted a series of photos on the themes of Abandonment and Urban Decay (uplifting stuff wasn't it). I thought it might make a good theme for this weeks photography challenge too.

t was a long slog to the government's mortgage abuse settlement with top banks, one in which officials slept in their offices and worked round the clock. And yet, a consumer advocate looking out for those who lost homes to foreclosure can only muster an "it's okay."
You don't need an expert to tell you how little of a dent the $25 billion deal makes in a mortgage morass that President Obama reminded us is one of the biggest drags on the economy. It took 16 months to get to a settlement that helps roughly 1 million borrowers, while 11 million Americans owe more money that what their homes are worth. People who lost their homes to foreclosures will get payments of $2,000. Home prices, meanwhile, are still 33 percent lower than 2006.
It's a lot of work for a little relief. But if there is one constituent that walks away satisfied it has to be the state of California. Attorney General Kamala Harris held out for a better deal right to the end. What she won was 45 percent of the settlement spoils, and she only came to the table with a third of the nation's foreclosures in her portfolio. It pays to play hard to get.

All my life I have been playing Sudoku on a puzzle book. Now that we have our very own computer, I was amazed to find out that it can actually be played online. At first, I was dumfounded. I have never played any puzzle game on computer before so you can only imagine how long it took me to figure out how to play Sudoku.

When it comes to remembering the millions of victims of the Nazi quest to "purify" Germany during World War II, names are often all that remain.
So why do we call the Nazi genocide of 6 million Jews and millions of others "The Holocaust"?
After many months of getting a pass, it seems that the other candidates are willing to finally start hitting Governor Mitt Romney on his major weakness: The Massachusetts Health Care Insurance Reform Law. The bill, known by most as Romneycare, is (as we all have been saying for many moons) the basis for the much maligned Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, otherwise affectionately known as Obamacare.
I've been in endless debates and discussions with Romney supporters and surrogates for some time now as they paint a beautiful picture of the ultimate State's Rights battle. They claim that Romneycare vs Obamacare isn't about socialized medicine vs the free market. They say it's actually the core of the Federalist struggle and that Romney will channel Mr. Smith Goes to Washington and march onto the capital steps, fulfilling the dreams and desires of tea partiers nationwide by finally standing up and saying, "Enough is enough! Let the state's make their decisions Obama! Your days of tyranny are at an end!" And they all rejoiced.
Yet, continually when Romney is approached on this subject in the debates with fellow Republicans, he seems incapable of defending any other point and seems befuddled at the idea that there might be more than one part about Obamacare that American's had wholly objected to. For him, it's all about the mandate.
But it's important to keep in mind, Mitt Romney does not object to the concept of mandates. Far from it actually.
After worrying through the issue of John Lewis, sharks, and the slave trade, I was curious how Virginia history textbooks handle the issue. (This was in part provoked by the fact that one of the disgruntled Internet commenters I quoted mentioned that his own newphew's history textbook got it all wrong.)

On Sunday, I explained what a sink fund is – and how it helps to stretch our budget. Today I want to explain how – and where – we save our sink funds.
When I started to investigate where to "keep" our sink funds (assuming that under the mattress wasn't a great idea), I knew there were several characteristics I was looking for in a savings account.
1. An account that would be separate from our main checking account. Some people successfully keep all their money in the same account and have the self-discipline not to dip into money that isn't allocated. I, however, didn't trust us that much. Keeping the money separate is visually and practically important to me.
2. An account that would allow me to have sub-accounts. I didn't want to have to set up a dozen different accounts. That would have been way too much virtual paperwork to stay on top of. I wanted one account with partitions between my money – so I could shut off my Emergency Fund money from the Home Sink Fund money. (Again, getting back to #1 – separation is good for us!)
3. I wanted to earn a bit of interest, but "making money" on my Sink Funds was NOT a priority. Sink Funds are money with an intended and immediately foreseeable purpose. Making money through investments requires risk. I was not willing to risk our Sink Funds.
When I added 1 + 2 + 3, I ended up back at ING.

While Tony Abbott has stated he will repeal the Carbon Pricing Scheme when elected, the Carbon Pricing Scheme will nevertheless become effective on 1 July 2012. What does this mean for businesses?
Around 500 businesses will be directly affected by the Carbon Pricing Scheme. These are companies which emit more than 25,000 tonnes of CO2. They will be charged a price for each tonne of carbon, and be mandated to further reporting and compliance obligations.
The problem, however, comes when you have a new abundance where once there was scarcity. And that's because anywhere there's a scarcity, someone has built a business model based on that very scarcity. But that is a business model issue. Years ago, most economies rejected the idea of mercantilism, where governments would purposely build up monopolies and artificial scarcities, because of the realization that, in the long run, everyone was better off with a competitive market. The guy who had the sugar monopoly may have hated it -- but everyone else was much, much better off.
And, so, we go back to knowledge and information. Unlike most other resources, knowledge is not just abundant... it is infinite. As Thomas Jefferson once famously wrote:
